Chapter 9 Something More
- Dante
- I stand abruptly. I’ve wasted enough time here—I need to see Justin. Wrapping things up quickly, I head out, driving toward his office.
- Once I arrive, I walk through the familiar hallways until I reach the conference room where I know he’s in a meeting. I sit outside, waiting, watching as people file out, leaving Justin alone.
- I step inside, closing the door behind me.
- He looks up, and I can see the frustration etched into his face. “You don’t look too happy,” I mutter, leaning casually against the doorframe
- His eyes narrow. “The fucker gifted her a puppy!” he explodes, slamming his phone onto the table. I glance at it, noticing a picture, skin...Luna? His anger at the puppy is fucking epic however. I can’t help but smirk at his reaction. So that’s what’s got him all worked up.
- Had I known a puppy would make you this angry, I would’ve gotten her fifty of them by now. "It's only a puppy, Justin, You didn't care about the other gifts," I tease, enjoying the way his face reddens with fury.
- “She’s keeping it!” he practically spits out. “All his other gifts, she tossed them without a second thought. But this one? She’s fucking keeping it!”
- I lean back, my smirk widening. “Of course she’s keeping it. She loves the little thing already no doubt.” And soon enough, she’ll love me just as much when she realizes what I’ve done for her.
- Justin glares at me, his frustration rolling off him in waves.
- “Why are you so bothered?” I ask, raising an eyebrow. “It’s just a puppy. What, you want her to throw it on a bonfire just because it came from her stalker?” I laugh, the idea so absurd it’s almost funny.
- He slams his hand down on the desk. “I’m not going over there tonight. There’s no way I’m sitting there with that thing as a constant reminder. She’ll get rid of it eventually.”
- But she won’t. I’ll make sure she doesn’t.
- “So, I guess that makes you free tonight, huh?” I ask, already knowing the answer.
- “Yeah, I guess it does,” he mutters.
- I shrug, acting casual. “Too bad. I’ve got plans. Enjoy your night.” With that, I turn and leave, heading straight to her place.
- By the time I get there, the apartment is dark. I walk to the window and peek inside. She’s asleep in the chair, the empty wine bottle on the table beside her. Little bear is curled up on her lap, looking as content as ever.
- I unlock the door quietly, slipping inside. The room smells like her—sweet, warm, familiar. As I move closer, I check to see if she stirs, but she’s deep in sleep. Perfect.
- Little bear bounds over to me, his tiny tail wagging furiously. I pick him up, chuckling softly. “You did good, buddy. You made him angry,” I whisper, giving him a quick scratch behind the ears. I grab a treat from the cupboard and toss it to him, watching as he scampers back to his bed, happily munching away.
- Then, I turn my attention to her. She’s even more beautiful up close, her face soft and peaceful in sleep. I know she sent Justin pictures of her in lingerie. I saw it from a distance. But he didn’t come. He didn’t care enough. But I do.
- Carefully, I lift her from the chair, cradling her in my arms. She doesn’t wake, just sighs softly as I carry her to the bed. “I’m spending the night with you, Little Deer. All fucking night,” I murmur, pressing a kiss to her forehead before laying her down. This is where I belong—here, with her, in the quiet of the night.
- Dante POV
- I stand beside the bed, barely breathing, watching her. Watching her. My eyes cling to every detail of her face, the way her dark hair spills across the pillow, how the soft freckles on her skin seem more vivid today, kissed by the sun. She looks angelic, but that’s not why I’m drawn to her. No. She’s far more than that to me. She’s everything. And I want everything.
- Her body has changed since the first time I laid eyes on her. She’s not as thin anymore—her curves have filled out in ways that drive me wild. Perfect handles, meant for me to hold, to possess. I can almost see her eyes piercing into mine even now, those deep blue pools, cutting through me, owning me as I stand here, silently drinking her in.
- I’ve never been fascinated by women before. They were always just... there. Until Luna. Something about her has wrapped itself around my soul, like hooks digging into my flesh, pulling tighter with every breath I take. Her body, her scent, the way she moves, the sound of her voice—all of it consumes me. The curve of her lips when she orgasms, the little whimper she makes when she’s lost in it... It buries itself into me, a sickness I can’t shake, a hunger I can’t satisfy.
- I reach out, fingers trembling, needing to touch her. Just a brush of skin, just one connection. My fingers trail down her face, and her lips part slightly, a soft sigh escaping her. The warmth of her breath against my hand sends a shiver through me. It’s intoxicating. I feel alive in a way I haven’t before, a way I didn’t know was possible. My world has always been cold, dark, empty. But Luna? Luna is fire. She’s the heat in a world of frost, and I can’t help but reach for it.
- My fingers move lower, tracing down her body, lingering on the rise of her breasts. Her nipple hardens under my touch, and my breath catches in my throat.
