Chapter 104 Leaving

• Callum POV
• I walk without a destination, my feet moving as though they know where I’m going better than I do. My mind churns, filled with promises I’ve broken to myself and the one I now know I can’t break to Alexandra. I’ll get clean. I have to. Not for me—but for her. Because as long as I’m like this, I’ll drag her down, and I can’t live with that.
• The sound of laughter pulls me from my thoughts. I glance to the side and see Claire, Alexandra’s little sister, sitting on the pavement with another girl. They’re playing with a pair of dolls, their heads bent close together as they giggle and chatter. The sight stops me in my tracks. Claire looks so carefree, so untouched by the shadows that haunt my world. She deserves to stay that way.
