• Waiting for death in hoplessness has never been a simple thing. I've learnt to step back and let things be. My wolf, however, had other plans. In the mere seconds the dark beast sprinted at me, my wolf forced me into the quickest shift of my life. A shift that was painful beyond measure. My clothes shed and my bones grind in second. When the dark beast tried to hit me, it instead hit an invisible force that knocked it back.
• My mates and Damon were up in a second, moving to protect me. I'd shifted fully into my wolf, stepping down from the tree branch with ease.
