Chapter 67

• The morning is awkward, and Jimmy hardly talks to you all afternoon. You bring him his meals in the panic room, and he just mutters a thank you without looking away from whatever screen he’s looking at.
• After you put dinner in the slow cooker, you walk into the small living room and sit on the couch. You had been so happy this morning when he let you touch and pleasure him, but he’s avoiding you like the plague now and that really hurt. You understood that he can’t do that again because he’s working but he didn’t have to avoid you. You could control yourself and not touch him if that’s what he wanted.
• You sigh and turn on the TV. You don’t really feel like watching anything but it’s better than sitting in silence. You pull the blanket that’s folded over the arm of the couch around you and stare at the local news channel. Your eyes grow heavy and just as you’re about to give in and catch a quick snooze, something shows up on TV that’s a little shocking.
