Chapter 50

  • Bee crept across the length of the hall of the run-down building with her sandals in her hand, careful not to upset anything in the dimly lit hall as she snuck to their apartment. No one must see her coming in so late at night, or the nosy neighbors will make sure to alert her moody guardian.
  • Successfully getting to her door, she slowly pushed against it, wincing when the old, rusty hinges creaked loudly. She entered the dark living room, shutting the door behind her with a soft thud.
