• “I couldn't believe it myself, Vivienne. Mother has been having an affair just so she can protect the family's image!” Antoinette exclaimed, pacing around in exasperation. She had gotten home that night and recounted her experience to her sister and Jenny in shock.
• Vivienne sat on the couch with Jenny, both of them looking shocked and horrified. Juliet had always been known as a very conservative woman, so their shock could be imagined when they heard about her extramarital affairs.
• “We have to keep an eye on the man. I have a bad feeling about him. He could use it against her later.” Lizzie, who stood by the couch, said quietly.
