• Alice lay facing the empty side of the bed beside her. She tried to link Devon, hoping that she could reach him, but after many attempts, she finally gave up. Joan had spent the whole day in Liam's chambers and even skipped lunch. Alice tried to make her come out of the chambers, but it only ended up making Joan more sad. They heard some of the servants gossiping about what had been happening at the Palace. “I want to lay down for a while” Joan had said after just walking with Alice for a while. “All this will be over soon,” Alice assured her friend.
