Chapter 164 She Saw It All
- Liam stood at the balcony of his Chambers watching the night sky in silence. He was in a complete daze and had no idea when Joan walked in. She had been avoiding him the whole day like he was a plague and would use any given opportunity to get away from him. Liam was convinced that she had seen most of his memories. Especially those that involved Hazel. That was one of the reasons he couldn't approach her. He felt guilty. He had been numb for so many years that he wasn't sure exactly how love felt anymore. He was unsure of himself. Would his lice change when the mate bond no longer existed.
- Joan stood at the entrance of the bedroom, deliberating if she should go in or continue avoiding Liam. She couldn't possibly avoid him forever. He was the king. Maybe she should have asked for her own room, being in the same space as him was clouding her thoughts. There were some memories she had seen that she couldn't speak of, memories that would be stuck with her for life. Memories that were pushing her away from him. Sometimes, she hated her powers for causing her such pain. She didn't ask to see them and had no choice but to see all those memories vividly. Joan wished she could erase it from her mind, and then she would hurt less.
- It didn't take Liam up to a minute to know his mate was close to him. Her intoxicating scent, which almost drove him crazy every single time, wafted across his nose. He walked back into the room, and there she was standing at the door in the dark room. Their eyes met, and she quickly looked away. How the hell was he going to approach her!? Each day was like torture for Liam. He wasn't sure how he could stay this long without already spiralling out of control and marking her. Thankfully, he was strong , but even the strongest of Lycans had limits. He could feel his wolf go more and more restless each passing day. His gums itched anytime he sets his eyes on her, and he suddenly feels nervous like a child.
