Chapter 16 Intruder

• At dinner time, Devon, Alice, and Lilac sat at the big dinner table. It could accommodate at least fifteen people. It felt a bit empty with just three of them sitting down. The omegas who served the food couldn’t help but glance at Alice when they walked in to set the table. The piercing gaze made Alice uncomfortable. She hung her head low, avoiding eye contact with the curious people.
• Finally, the dinner table was left with only the three of them. A man stood a few steps behind Devon. He was the only one who didn’t look at her with a surprise gaze. His face remained indifferent. She heard one of the workers calling him Jacob, he like the butler of the house. Alice wondered why he was standing by, and watching them eat. was it a common thing among rich people? she thought.
• Devon at been staring at Alice from over a minute, she hadn't touched her food. He was about to ask what was wrong but Lilac beat him to it.
