• "Why do you keep avoiding me like a plague?” Liam's question seemed to have caught Joan off guard. Her eyes grew wide in surprise, and she didn't know the response to give. “I wasn't…I didn't…well…” She started to stuttered. “It's late” She threw in her trump card. Maybe he would leave her alone if she told him she was tired. Liam thinks the opposite of what she was thinking. If he left now, they would only continue to avoid each other to God knows when. And you know it, so why do you bother asking me” Joan suddenly felt a rage course through her body. She was sure Hazel was the one in his heart as he was speaking to her. He was only here because of the stupid mate bond. “You can sleep here if you want” Joan went for the door, but Liam grabbed her arm before she could leave, stopping her in her tracks. “I will leave. Just know that whatever you are thinking isn't as it is. There is an explanation to everything”
