Chapter 167 He Was Loosing It For Her
- A few hours passed until Liam finally came out of his room. His eyes searched for his mate till it landed on Joan. She was fast asleep on the couch. He felt bad because of how he treated her, but it was her good. He didn't want to forcefully mark her and snap their mate bond. He walked to the couch and stood for some minutes in front of her just watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful. He reached out to her slowly and picked her up carefully so she wouldn't wake up. Joan stirred in his arms, but she still didn't wake up from her deep sleep. She must have been really tired, he thought.
- Liam carried her to the bedroom as carefully as possible, when he placed her on the bed he thought she would wake up but she only turned to another side and muttered incoherent words. “What do you keep mumbling about” He muttered and leaned closer to hear what Joan was saying. Liam froze for a second when he heard her words. ‘Can I be queen’. He continued to watch Joan in silence and didn't realize when over an hour passed. It was after midnight he finally got up from the edge of the bed and left his Chambers. Some of his guards, who were standing guard for the night bowed their heads in respect as he walked through the vast hallway.
- Liam was about to take a left turn when he stopped abruptly in his tracks. That scent… that familiar scent… A scent which Liam could never forget for the rest of his life invaded his nostrils. Was he mistaken? No, it couldn't be. He followed the scent slowly, each step he took the scent became stronger and stronger. Liam didn't know what to make of this. He mindlinked Devon immediately. Luckily Devon was wide awake. [Devon I Need you to come to the North Wing right now]
