• "Joan!” Alice called after her friend, but Hazel didn't stop. Till she got to the door leading to the Palace courtyard on the west wing. She took in really deep breaths before turning to look at Alice, who was standing behind her with concern on her face. “Why did she come here?” Hazel said, and ran her hand through her hair. Alice didn't say anything and allowed Joan to vent. “Things were finally getting a little better between us and I was reconsidering leaving, but why now?” She said through gritted teeth. Joan couldn't hide the jealousy she was feeling. “What If he goes back to her, what about Me” Her breathing became a little erratic.
• “Joan” Alice called her friend's name softly. “Can you take me somewhere else? Anywhere but here. I really don't want to be here while she is around. Please Alice” Joan pleaded and Alice nodded. She mindlinked Devon first and told him about it. He didn't think it was a good idea at all for them to leave the place. [Alice it's dangerous out there. Just take her to our chambers] Devon tried to convince his mate. [If you don't want us to leave then get her out of here, can't you see what Her presence is causing] Alice yelled and broke off the mind link. If she was in Joan's shoes she would have done worse and she knew it.
• Alice opened her portal and took Joan's hand. They entered the portal. They both emerged at the lake physically, it didn't look any different from the time they were always there. Joan went straight to the bench and sat on it. Alice sat right beside her and they both sat in silence. “Do you really want to give up like that, I thought you loved him” Alice said after a few minutes of silence. “Yes I do love him!” Joan admitted. “But?” Alice asked.
