• My body trembled at Lachlan’s words. He wanted me to stay? That was what he was saying? He wanted me here in pack with him. That was what his words had to mean, wasn't it? I knew I had a habit of seeing thigns that often were not there... seeing the good in things, as my Mum often called it, but Lachlan had literally just said he wanted me here. That had to be a good sign for the matebond, didn't it? But, as I looked at him, there was a blankness within his eyes that confused me. He was impossible to read. Nothing made sense anymore...
