Chapter 68 Lachlan

• I had been given no chance to rest, nor to allow my mind chance to proccess everything properly. I had been called into the office to help deal with the situation with the warrior. Seeing him punished would be good for me. I needed to see him get the harsh reality he deserved. The sick scenes I had walked up to last night still replayed within my mind and they enraged me. He was lucky he still breathed. But, I had done the responsible thing. The thing expected of me as Beta.
• I glanced down at the notes given to me, taking another sip of my hot coffee as I did. I was tired. My brain was a befuddled mess. This was not good. And now, I had Marcus talking at me once more, while I was struggling to focus. I had no clue, yet again what my friend had said to me, and I think it may be beginning to irritate him. We were meant to be working on this side by side. As Alpha and Beta of our pack, and one of his major bug bears was people not listening to him, but today I was truly struggling to listen for more than ten seconds without my mind wandering.
• “Lachlan, you are meant to be helping me.” He snapped. “Did you, or did you not, ask me to deal with this? Yet you have been as much use as a chocolate teapot. If you don’t want to be here then fuck off. I will get Cole to help.”
