• Richard's grip tightens on me. The barrel of the gun is pressed against my temple. My heart is about to burst out of my chest, the blood roars in my ears, and I feel like I could fall to my knees at any moment. If Richard wasn't holding me so tightly, I would have already done so.
• I close my eyes and see Adam's back moving away with Audrey in his arms. I hear the screams, the orders, around me. And with each one, the cold metal forcing itself against my skin.
