• I look at my reflection in the mirror and no longer see my happiness, nor do I feel it. The perfection of the past few hours ends up being just a distant memory, as the weight of my true routine makes its way back.
• My green eyes are no longer bright, and in a way, I am grateful for that. I prefer Richard to see my disillusionment rather than be angered by my indifference to his previous threats. Years of working for him have made clear to me the ways in which he satisfies his whims.
