Chapter 48 Tate
- I am standing in Violet’s room, my whole body tight with tension and shock. Lachlan knew this about her and never said a word? I feel betrayed. I am his Beta! Apparently meant to be his best friend too! Not only that, he knew she was going to be my mate, so why not tell me? Something here does not add up. The fact he didn’t even tell Hattie seems odd too. Why not share this with us? We do not keep things from one another. We should have been prepared for this. We could have come up with a plan! Known what to do, or at least had some fucking idea, instead of being blindsided by it all! This is not like Lachlan. It makes no sense...
- Literally moments ago, I was enraged with Violet for her leaving me, or preparing to. I don’t think I have ever felt myself reach that level of anger before. It was most definitely fuelled by Odyn. He was literally under my skin surface, it was a horrible sensation, not quite at shifting point, but ready to burst through. My voice was so deep, course and rough, so angry it was horrifying, and no doubt terrified Violet, which I think is what Odyn wanted to do, which made me angry at him. Terrifying her is the last thing I would ever want to do, no matter how upset I was with her. But hearing her explain why she was doing what she was doing I could understand, she was scared, she had been confused by what her wolf had told her, and then for her wolf to disappear to the pits of her brain and not be willing to discuss things further, to explain what this could mean was unfair of Azaria. Violet needed this explaining properly. Azaria was being unreasonable. Why our wolves did this sometimes was beyond me. She needed support, not abandonment.
- Now I was beyond furious with Lachlan. Ready to punch him quite honestly. How did he think it was acceptable to keep this to himself?! We deserved to know! We work as a team. We always have. We do not keep secrets. I look to Hattie and she looks hurt. No, beyond that. Like she is questioning everything. I hope this is fixable.
