Chapter 53 It Feels Good
- Grasping her cell phone, Caitlin unconsciously fell asleep. After all, she was now accustomed to such suffering after having borne it day and night for the past five years.
- When Max woke up shivering in the middle of the night, he glanced around, only to note that there was nary a cover on him. Although he felt that Caitlin wouldn’t be draping a blanket or something over him since she was immobile, he’d thought that she would’ve at least asked a nurse to drape one over him. He remembered that she couldn’t bear to see him go cold or hungry back then and would treat him as always no matter how arctic his expression was. Was this karmic retribution on him, then?
- He sighed. However, he was a tad worried about Caitlin, so he silently walked into the hospital room. When he saw that her pillow remained at the side and the covers weren't pulled up properly, he hurriedly stepped forward. Why is this woman increasingly incapable of taking care of herself? He slipped the pillow under her head, but when he pulled the covers, he glimpsed the cell phone in her hand.
