Chapter 103 Can I Stay the Night

• Caitlin couldn’t be bothered about Jackson’s thoughts. Standing up at once, she swiftly went over to the doors of the operating theatre. “Doctor, how is he?” Her palms were perspiring. It’d been a long time since she’d last been this apprehensive, the anxiety hundreds and thousands fold greater than when she’d checked her score for the college entrance examination back then.

• The doctor didn’t finish the sentence, but Caitlin understood that tonight was the most critical night. “Can I stay the night?” She knew that Max might be wheeled right into the intensive care unit considering the severity of his injuries, and family members weren’t allowed to stay in the intensive care unit. However, she was too worried to just leave like this. She told herself repeatedly that Max was Abby’s only hope, so she had to ensure that he lived to preserve that hope.
