Chapter 200 Where Is William
- Max and Caitlin lay on bed in silence and enjoyed the momentary peacefulness after horsing around for a bit. Caitlin knew Max wasn’t feeling great. In fact, nobody would feel great upon realizing that the mother whom he knew for almost thirty years wasn’t actually his biological mother, but he didn’t know how to open up about it. He sighed softly before saying, “I didn’t expect Madam Ruby to be my biological mother. No wonder Mom was always protecting her and wouldn’t allow me to lay a finger on her. So this is why.”
- “Do you blame her?” Caitlin wasn’t sure what he was thinking, so she asked him cautiously.
- Max smiled bitterly. “Why should I? Should I blame her for treating me nicely, or how she hid the truth from me? To be honest, I used to think she is a stern woman with a busy schedule, and I knew deep down that it was never easy for her to run the business alone, but I was a child and longed for her to keep me company.”
