Chapter 24 We Meet Again

• She expected Max to agree to it, only to see him pat on his jacket while replying nonchalantly, “I’ll be able to take care of him, so you don’t have to come along. You’re not even our employee, so it wouldn’t be the best option to follow me in there.”
• “It’s a weekend, so there won’t be anyone in the office.” Eliza was relentless. She had always wanted to enter their office building, but Max had constantly turned her down on the premises that they should avoid becoming the topic of gossip. He even went as far as to suggest setting up another company for her if she would be interested in doing business without realizing that she had only wanted to be with him.
