Chapter 9

• As Sebastian returned to the bedroom after tucking Katie into bed, his gaze fell upon Lilian sleeping peacefully on the floor. A pang of remorse washed over him as he remembered their wedding night, when he had asked her to sleep on the floor. He wanted to walk by but a part of him didn't want to as he fight the urge not to listen to the thought that ran through his mind.
• "Lilian," Sebastian called out softly, his voice laced with regret as he approached her. "I don't want you to sleep on the floor, anymore. Come, join me on the bed."
• Lilian stirred at the sound of his voice, her eyes fluttering open in surprise. She sat up slowly, her heart pounding in her chest as she thought about Sebastian's unexpected offer.
