- Detective Ramirez sat across from Lillian and Mr. Alfred in the small interrogation room, his expression serious as he prepared to question them about Mrs. Alfred's death.
- "Lillian, Mr. Alfred, thank you for coming in today," Detective Ramirez began, his tone measured. "I understand this is a difficult time for your family, but we need to gather some information about Mrs. Alfred's passing."
- Lillian nodded, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. "Of course, Detective. We want to help in any way we can," she replied, her voice trembling slightly.
