Chapter 67 Persistently Niggling
- M E R E D I T H
- After what happened with Carver, I have not seen him in the campus for the past few days and I guess he was trying to mend his broken heart that I had caused. As for me, I spent most of my remaining days with my art before the big exhibition which is commencing next weekend. Thad had returned to New York even before he could finish a week here since he was called for an emergency back in the office that he was working for. I spent most of my lunch all by myself which was not so bad because it gave me a lot of time to think, being on my own, since Ramona was catching up for the deadline of the essays that she had been getting busy with.
- On the other side, Ramona had been recovering since her split from George, and it was truly lovely to see that she now seemed to be back to her former self. I have dinners with her, and she frequently joined us for meals when Thad was still around, even if my older brother was also present. She has always been my friend, so it was not really a big issue for me, and Lawrence wouldn't really make a big deal out of it either. It was fantastic to see Thad and Ramona getting along since they were both close to me, but what was slightly unsettling about it was the fact that they were even phoning each other on their phones. Lawrence did not want to get involved despite the fact that he clearly did not like the situation and how his closest buddy was getting along with a lady like Ramona.
