Chapter 221 The Startling Results

  • "Why haven't they made the results public yet?" A pupil asked anxiously. "Is it possible that the grades were too low and challenging to grade?" Someone else conjectured. Someone teasingly said, "How absurd was it for her to ask you to kneel and apologize earlier?" Another said, "Country people love to brag, and now she's even brought her smelly grandmother along." Margaret's eyes grew a little dimmer at the final remark. Wynter, on the other hand, had a sly smirk on her lips as she looked at the teasing gang.
  • At that moment, a scream went out, "Ms. Kowalski is here!" The instructor in charge of marking the papers was Ivana. She quickly put the exam papers and results on the bulletin board to calm the gathering. Even the air appeared to become still in an instant. The kids' eyes widened in shock as they looked at the scores. As before, every subject—aside from one language subject—had a flawless score. Someone said, “Is this even possible? Quinton was there, too, and when he saw the results for himself, he could not speak.
  • He looked across to Wynter, who was standing next to Margaret. Suddenly his face reddened with shame. Wynter, though, didn't even look at him. Margaret couldn't see what was written on the bulletin board since she was too short to view it. But she glanced at Wynter in surprise when she heard someone remark on a flawless score. "Am I, my dear? "Hearing right?" she inquired. "You ought to be. This time, I didn't take it easy," Wynter said, grinning slightly. "Didn't you want me to perform normally?" Everyone was left wondering what she meant when she said those words, and there was a tense stillness thereafter. Did she imply that her prior poor grades were the result of her being lazy?
