Chapter 129 Doubting Wynter's Whereabouts
- At a crossroads, the driver said, "Mr. Hilton, this is the place." Larry cast a doubtful glance at the tiny, old cobblestone alley. "Are you sure?" he questioned, scowling. He questioned Wynter's purpose for being in this location. Adjacent to it was a vibrant vegetable market, alive with the noise of haggling. This was a place Larry had never gone before he started working in business. "This is indeed Waterview Alley," Jerry affirmed. Would you still like to search for her at the hospital across the street?" The medical facility? No. Larry said, "This place will do," pointing to the alley.
- He knew Wynter wouldn’t even go to the hospital because she was sluggish and loathed the scent of blood. Larry jumped out of the car, after which a line of security in black followed suit. They appeared to be gangsters due to their commanding appearance. Larry appeared unfriendly even though he was grinning. Saying, "Excuse me, do you know where the empathy clinic is?" he went up to an elderly man. Larry walked over to Warren Wick, who was buying some vegetables, and he shivered. He responded, "I don't know!" while pushing his cart aside. Larry held back. "Am I that scary?" he asked Jerry, touching his face. "Mr. Hilton, you just seem overbearing." Jerry, a business school graduate, thought out his statement before he said it.
- Larry grinned and gave a tongue-click. That elderly man must be aware, then. I heed his lead. Warren knew, of course. The Empathy Clinic was directly across from his residence. He felt obligated to repay Wynter for the fish he had given him earlier that morning, so he ran back to alert her to the approaching danger! The old people, who were in the middle of selecting veggies, naturally turned to look at the intimidating guardians. Ewan Scott, who had accompanied him, paid the parking fine without delay. It dawned on him then that this was no ordinary location. His mother resided down that run-down lane.
