- "She doesn’t deserve you, Cole." John’s voice was low, cutting through the silence in the darkened corner of the bar. I could feel the tension crackling between us as he stared at me with those wild eyes. His jaw was tight, his fists clenched, and I could tell that whatever restraint he’d had was rapidly slipping away.
