- “I know what you’ve been doing, Kemi.”
- The words hung in the air between us, thick and heavy, and for a moment, I almost couldn’t breathe. The sound of my voice, the weight of the accusation, felt almost foreign, but I couldn’t stop myself. I had to confront her. I had to know the truth, even if it meant risking everything.
- Kemi didn’t flinch. She simply stood there, her posture too calm, too controlled. “What do you think you know, Funmi?” she asked, her voice a practiced mix of curiosity and challenge.
