Chapter 183

• The cool breeze blew my hair away from my face, as I climbed up the glass stairs towards the huge entrance in my high nude heels with Brooke a step or two behind me, and the secretary who had met with us a few moments ago, walking right in front, her curly black hair bouncing with each step.
• Some men clad in black suits hung around the massive, shiny glass entrance to the building, watching the surroundings through dark shades on their faces. And that was when it struck me that I had forgotten my purse where I had kept an important document paper folded in.
• Brooke had all the necessary documents, but I had brought this particular one as some sort of precaution, only to leave the purse in my car after bringing it out to search for something in my bag. I stopped abruptly. “Stop. I forgot something in my car, wait here for me and I’ll go get it.”
