Chapter 11 The Grandparent Thing

• Dandy’s POV (Before Uncoupling):
• I hopped down the staircase in so much excitement when I heard that Grandma was coming for a visit. Excitement was the only visible expression in me: it had been a long time since we saw each other. My speed tripled the closer I got to the entrance of the house. It had been a long time since I felt my grandmother’s warm embrace and wouldn’t want any of my brothers to get the fresh scent of her breath first.
• My mother stopped me from running very quickly around the house because she feared that I would trip and fall. She was always overprotective of her children and feared that the tiles were the only thing we wouldn’t survive. I eventually approached the large entrance door, my grandmother standing before it with her raincoat over her. When I wanted to pour out the exhilaration in me, Jonah rushed towards her and hugged her.
