Chapter 1 Escape From An Alpha, Welcome To The Family
- Bianca’s POV:
- It was not the first time, neither was it the second, nor the third. I was chased intently by four ferocious wolves. I had no friend or a mate who could back me up when the circumstances were dire. Besides, I was just a seventeen-year-old girl who awaited her birthday the following week.
- My heart thumped loudly and my feet crushed stones. I was living in a nightmare by being constantly chased by the same pack of wolves regularly. With so much speed and anticipation, I stumbled upon a stone and flew high.
- My spine cracked painfully and my legs hurt. My human form, perhaps, would be contained with bruises that seemed incurable. I shrieked in pain, not for the fact that I was hurt, but for the fact that the pack of wolves had quit chasing me moments ago.
- I limped my way home only to behold my father, Alpha Landre, beating my mother, Luna Chloe. I was furious by that, although it was already a regular sight. I couldn’t stop him because the buffer to his anger (Luna Chloe) was extremely hurt.
- Also, my birth into a chosen mate couple could not act as a placation. I had to bear the sight of my mother dripping blood from her mouth and having a swollen eye.
- After my father had beat my mother terribly, I went to her comfort while she was crying. I cried along because I could not bear the sight of my loved one crying deeply.
- “I’m sorry, mom. Everything will be alright,” I said to my mother, stroking her hair and patting her back.
- “I want to leave this coupling,” my mother forced out of her stomach.
- “How are you going to do that?” I asked.
- “You’ll see. We’ll go together,” my mother whispered, looking at me intently.
- In the middle of the night, my mother and I packed our bags and began tiptoeing out of the house. But it was too late. My father’s alpha senses were much too powerful to outsmart.
- He fumed out of his room the moment he sensed my mother and I fleeing.
- “Run,” my mother whispered when she heard the sound of my father’s footsteps.
- That was another session of intense running. My father changed into his wolf form and began chasing after us. He tortured us by making us lose so much energy – slowing down the pace at which he pursued – before catching us.
- He transformed into his human form and gave my mother a firm grip.
- “Where do you think you’re going?” my father asked my mother, piercing his fingers in her arms.
- “I’m moving away from you,” my mother blurted.
- My father smiled wickedly and said, “Not with my daughter. You thought you could outsmart me? Huh? You’re not going anywhere with my daughter.”
- “Please let me go,” my mother beseeched.
- I felt redundant as my mother gasped for air in the hands of my father. I could not let such atrocity happen before my very eyes, especially now my mother was on the verge of freedom. I must do something to save her.
- “She’s my daughter and I’ll do whatever I please. If you’re worried that she’s been molested, then go to hell. Don’t let me expose your petty little secret cos now would be the perfect time for such a game. Then she’d know who the bad guy is,” my father said, giving a firm choke on my mother’s neck.
- Gathering all the anger from what my father had been doing to my mother and the fallacy he was narrating, I hit him hard on the head with a strong stick. He fell on the floor immediately, while I carried my mother and ran away with our luggage.
- But I wondered what the secret might be. And how my mother could possibly be the bad guy in everything that had happened. He regained consciousness when I had gone a distance and yelled.
- The only intelligible thing I could hear was, “I will kill you.” Good thing he didn’t follow us behind, but he could still find us when he pleased.
- I prayed he didn’t because of the horrible circumstances surrounding the event. My mother and I slept under a tree in the forest in our wolf forms because it kept us warm. I pondered on everything my father said and wondered if I was with the enemy.
- I woke up the next morning to find out my mom was not around anymore. I left our bags and transformed into my human form, searching for my mother in fear.
- She was found smiling at a strikingly attractive young man with bright hazel-coloured eyes. Wasn’t she supposed to be worried? I wondered.
- I gave a glimpse at the young man and gazed at my mother harshly.
- “Where have you been, Mom? I’ve been looking for you everywhere,” I said, throwing a threatening look at her.
- “Oh, I’m sorry Bianca,” my mother said happily to me, “This is Alpha Ethan Baron,” she said pointing at the guy.
- “Hi, Bianca. Good to see you,” Ethan said and stretched out his arms to receive a handshake.
- I was confused about two things. First, I’d never seen my mother this happy in a long time, and my mother addressed him as Alpha. Does this mean she’d finally found her fated mate?
- I agreed to Ethan’s handshake and made my reply.
- “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Alpha Ethan,” I said.
- “What beautiful daughter you got, Chloe,” Ethan complimented.
- “Thank you,” my mother blushed.
- I pulled my mother’s hand sharply and dragged her to a sacred corner.
- “What are you doing?” I asked her as if she was a child.
- “I’m finding the true one,” she replied.
- “Have you forgotten that you just left a coupling? Now, you want to get into another one so fast?” I questioned furiously.
- “I have to strike while the iron is still hot,” my mother said whimsically.
- I gazed at her with a piece of disdain, although I wished her the best. I prayed Alpha Ethan would not be like my father.
- “Look Bianca, there’s nothing to worry about. There’s a full moon tonight. If he’s real, the moon goddess would bless our coupling, but if he isn’t we would part our separate ways,” my mother added persuasively.
- I felt a sense of relief run through my stomach. She left me for Alpha Ethan to prepare for the coupling. I was shocked to hear that Alpha Ethan had children too. Perhaps he must have been in a coupling like my mother had.
- Later at night, my mother and Alpha Ethan stood on a rock below the moon and howled. They turned out to be fated mates bonded by the moon goddess. I was very happy for them and the new family I would belong to.
- I wasn’t allowed to see Alpha Ethan’s family because of the chances of failure. But after the bonding had been done with blood, Alpha Ethan called his children to say hello.
- My worst nightmare was all I could behold.
- “These are my quadruplets: Dandy, Mike, Jonah, and Kel,” Alpha Ethan said jauntily.
- I observed the lingering glare on their faces and turned mine away.
- They had always been my predators, always chasing me away to fall hard on the floor when I was in their territory. I looked at the injuries on my leg and gazed at them deeply and meaningfully.
- We were reluctant to make further acquaintance before Alpha Ethan because we knew each other so well.
- I was in for a new family and a new chapter of my life.
