Chapter 50 Chapter Fifty

  • Grandfather John convinced Marcela and Hermes to live with him. He bought a mansion near his grandson Dexter's with maximum security, almost impenetrable in the area where they were located.
  • Sofia was in her room, feeling increasingly frustrated by the situation she found herself in. Although Dexter had promised to let her go once her wound healed, the two weeks that had passed were wearing her down emotionally. Having finished her work and with few options to distract herself, her routine had become monotonous. She only left the room to go to the kitchen and then returned immediately, feeling trapped in the mansion. The lack of freedom was starting to take its toll, and her patience was wearing thin.
  • She decided to distract herself and explore the mansion. She left her room and walked through the second floor. There was no one in the house; the maids were not around, and the security guards were watching outside. As she walked down the hallway, she noticed several doors she hadn't entered yet. Curiosity drove her to open each one until she finally reached one revealing a massive library. For Sofia, it was paradise. She had grown up with scarce resources, and since childhood, she had loved reading books of all genres. However, to access them, she had to visit a public library and stay there for hours until closing time.
