Chapter 19 Chapter Nineteen

• Daphne arrived at the building with her breath ragged and rubbing her arms for warmth. She took her mobile phone out of her purse to call her brother. As she was bringing it to her ear, she felt an impact on her back, causing her to drop the phone. It shattered into three pieces as it hit the ground: the battery on one side, the cover on another, and the phone in the middle.
• She was surprised by her misfortune, so she bent down on her knees to pick up what was left of it.
• "Are you alright?" a voice asked.
