Chapter 39 The Real Show

• Raven felt strange. Used to going on missions alone and relying on herself, the word companion felt... uncomfortable. And even more so when that same companion had double connotations. God, she was going crazy.
• She straightened up on her legs trying to keep her distance from Lawson's warm body that despite her repulsion to be touched, it was as if he didn't do the same repulsion to her. She was no longer trembling as before. It was as it had been with the alpha...she had grown accustomed to his touch. And she didn't know if that was a good thing.
• Still the arm around her waist and holding her steady against him didn't let go. Rather he tensed as her hands came to rest on his chest to push him away without much result.
