Chapter 16 I Want Him
- Lawson looked down at the body in his arms, incredulous in an attempt to take in the situation. He cursed inwardly, wondering why that broad would pass out at key moments where he intended to hit her. For a moment he figured it was a strategy to make him give in and get away with it. But he wasn't that stupid, so he shook her shoulder violently to get no response. She let her fingers rest on his shoulder squeezing it a little and watched as his messy hair covered his closed eyes.
- That alone reminded him of a certain image from the day before, when that person had shaken her dark mane and Raven had only let herself, showing no resistance, even though the comment that she wouldn't let herself be touched was well known. Lawson knew how reluctant she was to that, to maintain contact and the cold atmosphere around her to keep everyone away, so he thought her facade was just that, a facade to appear superior. But he didn't understand why his chest tightened for a few slight seconds at that image. He attributed it to the fact that she was his mate and it was normal for his wild side to hate anyone touching what was his by destiny.
- That day, with a snap of his teeth he had walked away without that scene being erased from his mind.
