• My decision was made: I would pretend I hadn't heard anything. The conversation between Dominick and Aurora wasn't exactly a secret, but I preferred not to confront them at that moment. I returned to the interior of the house and approached the two of them with an impassive expression, ignoring the disdainful looks they gave me.
• Dominick seemed surprised by my reappearance. “Do you need something?”
