Chapter 11
- After the unpleasant conversation with Dante, I returned to my room with a heavy heart and a mind full of uncertainties. It was as if the ground had been taken from beneath my feet. The image I had of Dante, the person he seemed to be last night, had crumbled, revealing a cold and cruel man.
- Federica was there, waiting to help me with anything I needed. When she asked me about the clothes I planned to take to Tuscany, I looked at my clothes with disgust. They were too young and colorful for what lay ahead. I sighed deeply before giving the order.
- “Federica, I want you to take all of these clothes and donate them. We'll buy new ones in Rome.”
