Chapter 15
- Dante and I were back at the Mancuso mansion, but the silence between us was almost palpable, weighing on my shoulders like a burden. It was late at night, and the house was shrouded in darkness, indicating that most of the inhabitants were already asleep. Dante stopped in front of the door to my room and handed over the shopping bags. I accepted them with a heartfelt thank you, still hesitant about everything that had happened in Rome.
- He murmured a “you're welcome, Bambi” before stepping away. My eyes met his, and I couldn't help but react genuinely. “I hate that nickname,” I murmured, almost involuntarily.
