  • The room was in complete disarray, reflecting the turmoil that hung over the once peaceful house. John was furious with Ellis, and the situation had deteriorated to the point where he had put their daughter, Donna, outside the house. Anger blazed in his eyes as he approached Ellis, who met his gaze with determination but also fear.
  • “I endured everything for you,” he yelled, spitting out the words venomously. “I accepted that girl, my biggest rival's daughter, even though I knew it was that damned Vittorio who took away the person I loved the most.”
  • Ellis raised her chin, her eyes flickering with frustration. “That was your choice, John, not mine. And you need to understand that I didn't want this; you forced me into this marriage with you.” Ellis held her ground, her own anger building. “You willingly accepted Donna. But it didn't work out, and it's best for you to let me go.”
