• Ellis stared intensely at John, her own anger visible in her gaze. "Oh, so now you're blaming me? It was you who decided to take on this role without even discussing it with me or Donna. If it were up to me, we would still be in Seattle, and you'd still be working as a lawyer at your old firm, on the verge of becoming a partner."
• John felt his own frustration rise as he retorted, "And you think that life was better? We could barely make ends meet, and I wasn't fulfilling my potential. And now you, you're not being honest."
• Ellis shook her head, her voice firm. "Don't put the responsibility of this situation on me. It was you who chose to throw everything away. Why? To now feel threatened by Vittorio?"
