• Ellis stood at the gate of Dalton School, embracing Donna as she said goodbye before letting her enter the school. She stroked her daughter's hair and asked softly, "Darling, do you prefer me to pick you up today, or daddy?"
• Donna looked at her mother with a thoughtful gaze. "I'll give Daddy a chance this time, but tell him that doesn't mean I've forgiven him. I'm just looking at if he really deserves forgiveness."
• Ellis smiled with pride at his daughter's wit. "I'll tell him exactly that."
