Chapter 144 Just Tell Me Why
- For the next five days, I kept Sofia company at home during the day and went to work at night, going home on time before midnight. Thus, my relationship with her grew by leaps and bounds, and we appeared to be a couple, looking very much as though we were dating. However, I felt that it was a bit too much, for it might be too much of a good thing. Hence, I contemplated what I should do to take things down a notch, but it was also rather difficult to do so because I couldn’t go too far, and it also couldn’t happen inexplicably. No wonder I’ve just been feeling antsy. Thus, I lit a cigarette and waited for her to draw near.
- When she walked past my car with a Häagen-Dazs stick bar, I swung open the passenger door. “Get in.” She was instantly stunned. Then, she whirled around and raced away. “Ava Taylor, if you dare run away, I dare go and look for you at your house!” After thundering that, I closed my eyes and puffed away without even bothering to look in the rear-view mirror.
