Chapter 86

  • Emma had never believed that time healed any wounds, however, she had had to swallow her own beliefs, because time had not only healed her heart, it had healed her whole life.
  • From teaching her that being a mother wasn't the worst thing that could have happened to her -as she had believed during the first year holding the baby in her arms-, to opening her heart once again, to the only one she believed she could love again: Liam; it had cost her to trust someone again, to really trust enough to put her heart in that person's hands, but she had succeeded.
  • Emma had never been too fond of fairy tales, but she felt that her life had been transformed into one, sometimes she doubted that such perfection, could be possible, or lasting: a baby that Liam had helped her raise as if she were his own, a baby they walked everywhere with, with whom they had gone from one state to the next, well wrapped up, always held in the arms of her father Liam - he had always been much more loving than Emma, the little girl had always chosen him over her own mother, which always made Emma laugh. ‘Liliana’ they had called her, little Liliana, blonde hair, eyes of a beautiful green color; noisy, and rebellious, time had played with Emma's mind enough for her, on more than one occasion to forget that that little girl, was Leonardo's daughter, not Liam's... but that blonde hair, that temperament... was so similar to Liam's, that she had turned into rubble the guilt for not having ‘allowed’ Leonardo to meet his daughter. He didn't deserve it, he had never deserved it, the only man who really deserved to be by Emma's side was Liam, and that was the reason why, after little Liliana had turned one year and six months old, Liam had proposed to Emma.
