Chapter 35
- With Leland at the head of the table and Wes sitting across from her, Teegan felt strong and in control for the moment. She could actually feel the slight pulse of their combined magic and was so caught up in it that for several minutes she missed the whole opening discussion Wes and the head of the print department had. At least she could understand what they had been trying to explain to her about feeling traces of magic now.
- Ann and Kat sat a few seats down on the opposite side of her, and she had to keep avoiding making eye contact with them because they seemed determined to make her laugh with their obviously ogling looks in Leland’s way or the way they kept rolling their eyes at Celia. Of course, they didn’t know that she was too determined to focus on everything and everyone but Celia. Unless she wasn’t given the choice, she was not going to look at the woman.
- She was even able to ignore Celia when she started sharing her opinion on matters that had absolutely nothing to do with art, which was her job. When she mentioned for the third time that the art department needed better equipment to meet deadlines more efficiently Teegan looked at Ann. Ann assured her with just a look that her work wouldn’t be hindered in any way.
