Chapter 32
- Leland kept his distance as Wes went through the spell books with Teegan. His heart was still pounding inside his chest, regardless of assuring them he was fine now. He wasn’t and he doubted he’d be for quite some time, if ever. Connecting with Teegan, and sharing magic, even on the small scale had been explosive for him. Still feeling traces of her magic flowing through him had his body vibrating with what he could only think to be withdrawal. Never having tried such a thing before, he could only imagine what it would be like to completely let go and he looked forward to it. He wasn’t a magic user that fed off the power, but if what he had just felt was only a taste, he couldn’t wait for more.
- Each time Leland tried to look away from her, he found he couldn’t. Her eyes, he noticed strayed back to him more often than not as well. Could she still feel him inside her? He shuddered at the images that thought gave him. Inside her was exactly where he longed to be. His body stirred again, reminding him that it was feeling bereft being this far from her.
- “McKay.”
