Chapter 26
- The reality of what she had been able to do didn’t hit her until the next morning. She practically flew around her apartment getting ready for work. Energized and actually looking forward to the day. There also hadn’t been any dreams. None. Just glorious, peaceful sleep.
- It had been hard not to grab Kat by the shoulders and sing out I’m a witch, I can light candles with nothing but a thought! Of course, Kat would have taken her home or called the nearest mental health facility. Telling anyone was not allowed, for now, or so Leland and Wes kept telling her. She didn’t know how Kat and Ann would react, but it felt wrong to keep something like this from them.
- When they arrived at the office, the first person she saw when the elevator opened was Leland. Again she had to curb the desire to run up to him and kiss him, hoping he’d pick up where they left off the night before. That too was not allowed, for now. It seemed to her that there was far more she wasn’t permitted to do than there was that she could. Still, it didn’t dampen her good mood. It had been a long time since her spirits were this high and there wasn’t anything that was going to ruin it for her. Not even Celia, who truly made her skin crawl each time she saw the woman. Certain personalities were in serious need of adjustments and Celia’s was one of them.
