- "Big brother?" My jaw dropped, the façade I’d carefully maintained crumbling as I struggled to process Mason’s revelation. His face was an impassive mask, betraying no hint of deceit or emotion.
- "It seems you’re quite unfamiliar with your mate’s past," Mason said, shaking his head with a hint of pity. "What a pity. If you were mine, nothing would be kept from you. You would never be left in the dark."
- "Why isn’t Magnus in line for the throne if he’s your brother?" I demanded, trying to ignore Mason's provocative comment. My eyes locked onto his, demanding answers.
