• "Everything's set for tonight," I told Magnus, pushing aside my own feelings and focusing on the task at hand. "Have you learned anything more about my necklace?"
• "Someone from inside the Beaumont Kingdom mentioned that the necklace was sold directly to Mason Beaumont," Magnus growled, his voice thick with barely contained rage.
• "Why do you hate them so much?" I asked softly, trying to soothe him through our bond. He could sense my emotions and the effort I was making to calm him.
