Chapter 27
- Aurelia's POV
- I had just five seconds to take in the chaos around me. Magnus was on his knees, only ten feet away, his full lips twisted into a disbelieving frown as his obsidian eyes locked onto mine. The men who had surrounded him lay crumpled on the floor, their bodies forming eerie heaps scattered across the porcelain surface, now marred with splatters of blood. A distant worry crept into my mind—had innocent lives been lost today?
- The necklace that had once burned against my skin was now ice-cold. My vision began to blur, and before I could even process my legs giving way beneath me, darkness swallowed my world.
