Chapter 36

• After handing Uncle Orion the necklace, it felt as though a tremendous weight had lifted off my shoulders. Despite knowing my intentions were good, the thought of losing Kira, even temporarily, filled me with dread. Uncle Orion had given me the guidance I needed, and for that, I was grateful.
• I remained in my room well into the afternoon, lost in thought until the arrival of the dinner cart pulled me back to reality.
• "You can leave it here," I smiled at the servant, an older woman who returned my gesture warmly.
